Exciting times, indeed. In addition to playing most every day outside of Faneuil Hall (see dates and times on the “shows” link on this page), we’ve been really busily booking up our fall tour schedule while shopping ourselves around the city here in Boston. Check our shows page for new NYC dates and our Northern New England tour in just a few weeks!
On August 29th, just a few days back, Tall Heights was featured on UNregular Radio, Boston (www.unregularradio.com). While on air, we had a cryptic and unorthodox discussion about baseball with the cool dudes running the shabang, and then we played two new tunes, “To Be Young,” and “Rafters.” We played well, i’d say… and we’re still waiting to hear the recordings (unless something went terribly wrong with their equipment/recording abilities, we will be releasing those recordings soon).

Then, last night (Monday, Aug 2nd), we headed over to the Lizard Lounge Open Mic Challenge (http://www.myspace.com/lizardloungemonday). The host, Tom Bianchi, told us that he had never slotted so many performers in the same open mic. We played the same two new songs mentioned above and were very well received by a room filled with many VERY talented fellow musicians. Luckily, we were chosen as one of the top 3, so we got up and played another new song, “Antenna Out of Wire,” and (drum roll…) we won! We were so psyched and honored to win the Lizard Lounge open mic because, in our opinion, other open mics in the city just can’t compare. We’re crazy about the room and we anxiously await our first time in their Saturday winners’ bracket open mic in September. Also, on Sept. 23rd, we’ll be at Lizard Lounge opening for Brothers Mccann (www.brothersmccann.com). Very exciting stuff.

So, keep checking in and stay tuned for recordings from both the radio show and the open mic!
