Animal is hitting home with me. It’s been a tough 2 weeks for my family and we just moved my dad to hospice yesterday. This morning I had some alone time so I decided to sit down and check out Endless Autumn. I didn’t expect Day 2 to relate to me. After watching the video I read the lyrics to Animal and reflected on all the questions I had the night before while sitting next to my dad’s beside, exactly as the song. Does he know the end is near? Does he feel alone or does he know we are here? Is all he ever wanted was someone at his side at the end? It’s a beautiful song and will hold a special place in my heart. I have had the pleasure of seeing you perform twice so far. I’m looking forward to finish the sessions and love what you are doing for your fans. I just wanted you to know that your music and words truly touch your fans. Wishing you success. -Ann Marie

This may be one of my favorite roads to a record release ever-- and truly one of the only I've ever followed. I should have commented earlier, but I can't wait to hear some of these on the road somewhere in the middle of Michigan! Thanks again for your thoughtfulness.

yo Josh! We're always so honored whenever a fran (friend/fan) carves out the time to spend on this music of ours. I think it's obvious how much these song mean to us, but it really takes 2 or 3 or 4 to tango... so thanks for going there with us! See you in Michigan!!

I just turned 30 a couple weeks ago right around when these pages were posted, and I've really treasured the insights into the songs and the themes of how life and love evolve over time in strange and unexpected but beautiful ways. Absolute poetry set to gorgeous music as always, and I love the extra encouragement for reflection and introspection -- constantly impressed by how vulnerable and REAL you guys are. Plus I can't get Apple Tree out of my head, it's simply a masterpiece. Thanks for everything you do. -Emma

hey Emma! HBD!! Hey, as I write this I've just spent my morning wrestling with the nagging fleetingness of time. Today is my older son's last day of daycare/pre-k, he starts kindergarten next week. I guess this is just the kinda guy I am, bc i def remember a variation on this feeling when I turned 20 and then 30 too... I know Paul's the same way. Maybe you're that way too. It's just so intense and heavy. This is so much of what "In Vein" is about. Also, "flyin' overhead" on our last album. In that one we were actively talking about the roman god Janus (from whom we get the word "January"). I bring up Janus here bc he had a face on the front of his head, and another face on the back of his head. I like that. I think I always forget to keep my face on the front of my head. Even as we're looking back, let's look forward! -tim

I was sitting on the floor listening to Apple Tree and reading the Day One stuff. My brother was sitting in a recliner beside and above me. When the music got loud enough for him to hear, he sat bolt upright and looked down at me and smiled. He hummed along. What makes this observation worthy of mentioning is that he was born with Down Syndrome and now at 55 suffers with dementia, has lost his language, and rarely engages. I wondered if it was just a fluke. A little later I played another song. He did the same thing. I love it that music touches something deep within and needs neither language nor social engagement to enjoy. I will continue to share your music with him. Thank you. <3 Heidi

my gosh. Heidi, thank you for sharing this. We're the luckiest guys on earth that our music gets to participate in beautiful moments like this. I'm so glad you had this beautiful and pure moment with your brother, here's to many more of them, as I'm sure it's complex and challenging to navigate his dementia and his changing needs. Good luck, let us know how we can help. -tim and paul

Hi Autumites! I was asked to share some of my thoughts from the first few days of Endless Autumn. Can’t wait to hear what everyone else thinks about the album :) -Lewis C. (They/Them)

Day 1: This peak into the world of your combined creativity has been so wonderful. The messy, organic approach you take to songwriting is so refreshing —sharing thoughts, poems, melodies, interests….Feeling super validated to know the song was indeed Simon and Garfunkel inspired. I popped the CD into my player the first time and I remember saying “wow, it feels like I’m listening to a modern Simon and Garfunkel song!” Hopefully you’re happy to hear that your inspiration was cooked into the music successfully haha

I also loved hearing all the different demos, and how the idea of the song evolved overtime. I think all the original seeds are still in there, especially now that I know where to look. Because in a way, don’t you think humans feel entitled to their life, and time as their private property?? In the same way as we as a species often give into this delusion that we own the earth, so too can we get caught up thinking we’re the sole owner of our fates.

But life doesn’t really work that way, does it? We’re constantly being pulled and moulded by outside forces, sometimes gently, and other times in a very painful and sudden manner. There is something larger, immortal that brings people, possessions, money, you name it, in and out of our path. What we “own” today could very well be gone tomorrow. So thank you for writing a song that reminds me to share what I have today with those I love! Maybe, I think that’s why I instantly fell in love with the title you chose for this album release celebration: Endless Autumn. The promise of death, of change, is one of the few constants in this world we can rely on. If that’s all that’s inevitable, and the rest of life is essentially random…why not celebrate with the changing of the leaves?

Thanks for a great first day of reflection; this all came at a time in my life where I really can benefit from slowing down and feeling it all for a moment. Forever grateful for the raw, authentic, beautiful versions of yourselves & your magic that you’ve gifted to the world!!

I love ALL of this! HEY YOU GET IT!!! The celebration of Autumn forever! A celebration of endings, of change, of loss, of pain. Thank you for pointing out the messy approach because that's all it ever is... it's rag tag, it's always new, and it's never been done like this.

I also love the idea of our time being a private possession that we perhaps hoard. And the converse idea of giving it away. Currency, a word for money, holds that word "current" in there... Let it flow... our time and our possessions alike!!

thanks for jamming with us.

As everyone else so far as said, I'm really enjoying the Endless Autumn experience. It's nice to learn about the stories behind the songs, their creative process, etc. and thus able to connect with the artists on a more personal level, even though it's at a distance (I live in Mexico)... I'd love to make it to a concert someday! -Matthew
