HAPPY FRIDAY, FRIEND!

For today's journaling prompt, we want you to close your eyes and dig deep and reflect on.... PSYCH! hey, take a day off of from self exploration and just be free and easy! Secret is our song of the day, and it's written about something silly... that was the whole idea! It's not about the twists and turns of life, it's not about the existential utility of love, it's not about climate change, or gun violence... no, it's just for fun. We found this Paul Simon quote inspirational when we went in to record this one :

"I write for various reasons, some songs I write for the pleasure of writing a song. It doesn't have any great meaning. It's just a song. Songs are nice." -Paul Simon

Joy Circle

Let's spread love and joy! A fan taught us this one out on the road, and we've done it a few times since. I remember Paul leading me through this back in 2020, right before our lives changed forever, and my mind went to my beautiful baby son at home, and I was brought to tears with a feeling of deep connectedness from afar.

When you make an album live in a room,

most of the time is spent working it out with the other musicians. Messing up. Joking around.

Here's what that sounds like!

As mentioned, Here's an old version of this song that we abandoned

After we got a good live take of Secret,

we doubled all the vocals around 1 mic.

Merch Spotlight

FREE ENDLESS AUTUMN GIVEAWAY:

Endless Autumn Exclusive Iron On Patches

The design depicts a pine tree inside an apple, we dug it for the way it plays with the punny "pining" of Apple Tree ("time grows strange like an apple tree, still I toil and I pine, I pine."). It reminds me of this quote playfully challenging the notion that we ever need lines and fences between us from Robert Frost's "Mending Wall"

There where it is we do not need the wall:

He is all pine and I am apple orchard.

My apple trees will never get across

And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.

He only says, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’

Get one and put it on your jean jacket, or a fall flannel, or a carhartt product or something! Find us after a release show and flaunt that Endless Autumn patch for big hugs, if not a special free something at the merch table.
